Beyond

Privacy Policy

Last updated October 27, 2026

Beyond is built so your travel data stays on your iPhone. This policy explains what Beyond keeps, the few things it sends off your device and why, who helps process them, and the choices and rights you have.

Who we are

Beyond is published on the App Store by Bradley Joseph Sitko ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described here. Contact us at support@beyondtravel.app.

The short version

Information that stays on your iPhone

Trips, boarding passes (including the barcode data), traveler names and colors, bag names and AirTag labels, notes, and reminders are stored only on your device, in Beyond's storage protected by iOS. Passport and ID details, such as document numbers, names, nationality, dates of birth and expiry dates, are encrypted with a key kept in your iPhone's Keychain and open only with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode. Face ID and Touch ID are handled by iOS; Beyond never receives your biometric data.

We cannot see, access or recover anything stored only on your iPhone. If you lose your phone or delete the app, that information is gone unless it is in your own device backup.

Information sent off your iPhone

Beyond's server exists for three features. It has no user accounts, and it does not store what you send it.

Like any internet service, our hosting provider receives your IP address and basic request information when your iPhone connects. Our server's own logs record only which feature was used, whether it worked and how long it took. They never include photos, names or pass details.

Why we use it (legal bases)

Service providers

We use these companies to run Beyond. They process information only to provide their service to us.

We do not sell personal information, share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, or use it to build profiles. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights and safety of users or others, or as part of a sale or transfer of the app, in which case this policy continues to apply.

Location

If you allow location access, Beyond uses it on travel day to notice when you arrive at the departure airport and open Airport Mode. Location is checked on your iPhone and is never sent to our server.

Notifications

Reminders such as check-in, when to leave, gate changes and passport expiry are scheduled on your iPhone.

Children

Beyond is meant to be used by adults and by teens with a parent's or guardian's permission. It is not directed at children under 13. Parents and guardians can add their children as travelers; that information is entered by the guardian and stored on the guardian's iPhone. If a child's boarding pass is read with AI, its photo is processed as described above and not kept. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information without a parent's consent, contact us and we will delete anything we hold.

How long we keep information

Information on your iPhone stays until you delete it. Photos and pass details sent to our server are processed and discarded when the request finishes. Server logs contain no personal information beyond what our hosting provider records about connections, which it keeps under its own policies.

Security

Connections to our server use HTTPS. Passport and ID details are encrypted on your device. Our server rejects requests that don't come from the Beyond app. No system is perfectly secure, but we design Beyond to hold as little as possible so there is little to expose.

Your rights and choices

International transfers

Our service providers may process information in the United States and other countries. Where required, they use legally recognized safeguards such as standard contractual clauses for transfers.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will post the new version here with a new date. If a change affects how photos or other personal information are handled, we will tell you in the app first.
